Your home is an important and valuable investment.  The exterior of your home protects the items most important to you from the elements.  Selecting a roofing contractor is a very important process.

1. Make sure you are not dealing with "Storm Chasers".  These are out of town salespeople who chase big storms and are in the business to make a quick buck.  These individuals will provide unrealistically low quotes and you may have heard they provide poor workmanship.  We are a local business in the DMV.

2.  Make sure your contractor is licensed.  While working as a licensed contractor is a law and punishable by imprisonment, this seems to never stop people from attempting to work without a license. Always ask for a contractors license and also verify that the license is in good standing.

3. Make sure your contractor is insured.  Roofing can be a dangerous profession when proper safety measures aren't implemented. As a homeowner, you can be liable if someone has a serious injury on your property.  This is why you should verify that your contractor is insured.

4. Don't always go with the lowest price.  Getting a cheap quote can be very tempting but there are other considerations that need to be given.  For example, the quality of the shingles, windows or siding being used.  Low-quality shingles will get you a cheaper price but you could be changing your roof more often than you would expect.   We use higher quality materials such as those made by Owens Corning.  When getting quotes, research the type of materials that will be used on your home.

We do provide services for emergency roofing repairs.  However, in the event of a bad storm, current and past clients will get priority over new clients.

Our clients often think that shingles with a longer warranty are often better.  The key is to read the fine print. Most warranties only cover replacement costs of materials and do not cover labor.  With roofing, labor is one of the most expensive aspects.
